More Skiathos Wildlife

The thing that I am most afraid of are moths, moths and butterflies, if they come near me I'm like a woman possessed, lol.  but when I saw this beautiful creature gliding around so elegantly I was memorised, it looked so graceful.  It settled long enough for me to get a couple of half decent photos.  I did have a zoom lens with me which meant i didn't have to get too close, if it had ever come within an inch of me you would have heard me screaming back in the UK !!

If anyone knows what it is please leave a message.

Skiathos Cats

It's been a while since i shared any photos, i hope to put that right over the next week or so.

We spent a week on the Greek Island of Skiathos at the beginning of July, anyone who has been to Greece will know about the many cats that roam around just waiting to be fed.  Goodness know how these poor things survive.

The photo above and below are the same cute kitten, there was a little family living at Kastro, a very remote part of the island.

Above and below, another cute little fella from the same litter at Kastro

This little mother was watching her babies climb and play on the bank opposite.  These were at a monastery, and at least had water to drink, there were food bowls out too, so these were lucky cats!

In The Garden

A bit more colour around now
Hostas coming into flower

Lovely fuzzy flowers (on an unknown shrub)

Another unknown (i tend to plant things and forget what they are!!)
Lovely flowers and leaves though, and it's big, about 5-6 feet.
This one i think is a Hebe, the flowers look white on here but they are more a very pale lilac.

Over the garden fence

In typical Bank Holiday fashion it rained for most of the day here in the UK.
Finally late evening the sky cleared enough to let a bit of light through.

Bewdley

A visit to a lovely Georgian town made a nice change today.
In my days of motorcycles i used to go to this place quite a lot, it was a magnet for the leather clad people of my youth,

White

We have 4 of these shrubs in our garden, three of them are between four and five feet tall, I cut one back in the spring and it hasn't flowered but is still very very green and bushy, the rest are covered in a mass of lovely little white flowers. A welcome relief from all the green in my garden!
I never really took the time before to notice how lovely they are.
